Elena Cristofori

Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of TriM. Elena is a Civil Engineer holding a PhD in Environmental Protection and Risk Management at the Polytechnic University of Turin and a Master in Environmental Sciences at the University of Toulon (France).

She is an expert in Hydrology, Applied Meteorology, Disaster Prevention and Risk Management. Elena has built her career working for more than 15 years as a senior researcher and an independent expert both at national and international level in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction and People-Centred Early Warning Systems with a particular focus on the participatory design and implementation of community-based decision support tools.

Elena has collaborated with universities, international research, and no-profit organisations and has been involved as a senior expert and project manager in national and international projects. Elena is also working as a weather coach for the Austrian Sailing Federation and several other Olympic sailors collaborating in Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 weather projects.
